Important Protocols and Procedures

We want My World to be a safe and fun environment for everyone, while working to achieve your child's goals. Together we can accomplish this by following these procedures.

1. Drop Off Protocol
We will continue protocols to minimize the number of people inside the clinic, to ensure the health and safety of everyone. Please wait inside your vehicle until your child's therapist comes to get them.

2. Pick Up Protocol
Unless alternate plans have been discussed with your child's therapist, wait for your therapist to bring your child to your vehicle. Please remember that therapists often do not have time to sit and discuss at the end of every session; if you would like to have a longer discussion, you may schedule a time with your therapist or BCBA.

3. Respecting Therapists Time
It is important to be on time for both drop off and pick up. Therapists often have no break between clients, so they can not spend time waiting for a late pickup. Therapists also rely on session time with clients, so arriving on time is vital. If you will be late for either drop off or pickup, even if it is just a few minutes, please let us know as soon as possible.

Important Update from My World ABA

As many of you have heard by now, multiple states have been taking serious precautions to avoid the spread of COVID-19. As of right now, My World will remain open, unless we get a directive from the Health Department or the CDC (or any government agency authorized to do so). We understand our service is different from educational institutions and we take that responsibility very seriously and will continue to deliver on our promise of providing high quality services to your children.

We will continue to review the latest information from the CDC, MO Dept of Health and local agencies to ensure our policies and procedures align with the latest recommended preventive measures.  We encourage families to do the following:

  •  Stay home if ill – We are reminding everyone – parents, children and staff alike – to stay home at the first sign of illness and for a sufficient time period afterwards. If you are concerned that your child is experiencing a cold that is lasting longer than a few days, appears ill, or is experiencing discomfort or distress in terms of breathing, you should consult with your health care provider.
  • Contact with someone who is ill – If you and/or your children have had direct contact in the past two weeks with someone diagnosed with COVID-19, please stay home, contact your health care provider to plan your care, and alert us as soon as possible.
  • Wash hands frequently – Follow hand washing policies and procedures (please help by ensuring you and your children are washing hands upon entering the center), taking extra care to wash hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds.
  • Stay informed – Regularly monitor information coming from the CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) and from your local health department.

In the event of an emergency, My World will use a variety of channels – including phone and email – to reach you. We have additionally sent communications to all My World staff informing them of proper hygiene procedures and awareness around COVID-19.  We will remain vigilant in taking all necessary measures to promote the safety of My World families.

Thank you,

Mike and Amanda Mizer
